Overpopulation and its effects on the environment ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

Overpopulation has always been an issue in the 21st century as urbanization and industrialization have been leading to overpopulated areas over the world. Not only does overpopulation influence human beings’ lifestyles but they also have a significant influence on the environment. As the human population continues to increase and the demands for more food supplements and natural resources don’t stop, the world is being depleted of natural resources like fossil fuels, fertile land, fresh water, etc. Furthermore, overpopulation has been leading to severe habitat losses of ecosystems and rainforests, and it is also known that a great deal of coral reefs have been disappearing at a rapid rate. As there have been more demands for food and agricultural products, farmers have been incorporating the use of intensive farming practices, which is detrimental to the environment. To be more specific, such intensive farming practices have been triggering the emergence of new parasites and have been leading to degradation of fertile soil and deforestation in tropical areas. The emergence of new parasites relate to the emergence of new epidemics as the poor quality of living conditions in overpopulated areas tend to make people vulnerable to infections or health diseases like malnutrition. Therefore, we need to be alert of such issues and try to prevent further consequences following overpopulation.
